Lead Java Developer, FX Engineering

Overview

LSEG (London Stock Exchange Group) is a global financial markets infrastructure and data provider focused on delivering excellence to customers. The group supports FX trading and related services with a focus on low latency.

We are looking to hire a highly skilled, hands-on Java engineer to help design, build, and operate large-scale trading platforms. We value technical aptitude, innovative thinking, continuous learning, and teamwork.

• Closely working with architects and other team members to develop and build complex applications that meet the needs of FX engineering.
• Design, development, and support of trading venues.
• Ongoing support and development of cloud services, including collaborating with product teams to build cloud-aware applications.
• Develop automated processes to prevent, identify, and fix problems impacting service availability.
• Identify and deliver improvements across areas such as cost, security, ease of use, and reliability.

• Strong Java programming skills and experience writing clean code.
• Data structures and algorithms knowledge.
• Expertise in concurrency and performance optimization.
• Deep understanding of system architecture and memory management.
• Proficiency with profiling tools.
• Experience with libraries and frameworks for low-latency applications.
• Knowledge of network protocols (TCP, UDP, HTTP) and techniques to optimize network communication.
• Proven track record of delivering goals.
• Knowledge and experience of modern agile development methodologies.
• Exposure to Dev Ops practices and automation of testing, delivery, and infrastructure changes.
• Self-motivated and self-directed, able to work in a globally distributed team and manage multiple priorities.
• Proven ability to investigate complex issues spanning multiple technologies and drive to completion.

The anticipated base salary is variable by location. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP). Benefits may include wellness, health plans, retirement plans, paid time off, and other company programs.
