BTQ is developing the most powerful and efficient post‑quantum secure hardware on the market. By leveraging processing‑in‑memory technology, we can achieve 10x the performance‑per‑watt and per‑area of conventional architectures. We’re looking for a talented embedded systems engineer to help develop the drivers and compilers necessary to ensure this state‑of‑the‑art architecture can run securely and efficiently.

In this role, you will improve, maintain, and develop the system software that interfaces with the accelerator hardware. You will work with the hardware team to ensure that the simulator reflects the actual operation of the hardware, and with the cryptographic software team to support their needs via tool development.

As a good fit, you should ideally be able to develop complex and secure software applications that leverage and support novel accelerator architectures and work closely with developers working on the architecture to understand their needs, solve problems, and add new capabilities.

• BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with embedded systems development.
• Experience with operating systems development.
• Background in C++ and Python.
• Experience working on compilers or assemblers.

• Understanding of computer architecture, microarchitecture, and instruction sets.
• Experience with cryptography and hardware/software security.

• Hybrid; can be based in our New York City office or our Portland, Oregon office.
• To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful permanent resident, (iii) Refugee under 8 U.S.C. § 1157, (iv) Asylee under 8 U.S.C. § 1158, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
