Door Dash is building the world's most reliable on-demand, logistics engine for delivery. We are growing rapidly and expanding our Engineering offices globally. We are looking for Backend Engineers to build and maintain a large-scale 24x7 global infrastructure system that powers Door Dash's 3-sided marketplace of Consumers, Merchants, and Dashers.

• Develop, release and run large-scale web applications
• Develop and define the backend architecture and tech stack for a product area
• Improve performance, reliability, scalability and security for our backend systems
• Be involved in transitioning our monolithic codebase to a microservice-based architecture
• Completely disrupt logistics by tackling bleeding-edge, technical problems

• B.S., M.S., or PhD in Computer Science or equivalent
• Prior experience (2+ years) working with backend tech stacks
• Ability to analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system resources
• Experience with service oriented architecture, writing REST APIs, unit testing, and architectural design
• Understanding of modern web stacks and architecture (HTTP, REST)
• Experience with SQL and No
  
  SQL databases and other technologies (e.g. Postgres, Redis, Elasticsearch, Rabbit
  
  MQ)

The compensation for this role includes base salary ranges (localized by work location) and opportunities for equity grants. Base salary is determined by job-related factors, including skills, experience, and market conditions.

• Base pay ranges by level (USD): I4: $130,600—$192,000; I5: $159,800—$235,000; I6: $193,800—$285,000
