Knot’s mission is to empower consumers and businesses alike with connected merchant and banking experiences. Knot is like “Plaid for merchant connectivity.” We are building the platform connecting merchants to the many applications that consumers and businesses interact with every day. Our flagship Card Switcher product allows consumers to instantly update & manage their cards on file with online merchant accounts (e.g. Netflix or Pay Pal), while newer products like Transaction Link support the retrieval of item-level transaction data.

Founded in 2021 by brothers Rory and Kieran O’Reilly and Thiel Fellows, Knot powers connected online payment experiences for hundreds of thousands of consumers. Companies such as American Express, Pay Pal, Current, BILT, Step, and more embed Knot’s SDK in their apps. We’re a world‑class team largely in engineering roles, looking to solidify our presence in NYC to be at the heart of the financial services ecosystem.

• Work alongside a team to build, experiment with, and debug user‑facing features across all of Knot’s products (Card Switcher, Transaction Link, etc.)
• Build brand new products alongside existing features to drive further value for end users.
• Develop user interfaces with React/Type Script on the frontend and a variety of technologies at the API layer.
• Foster a culture of deep care for industry‑leading user experience.

• 5+ years of full‑stack engineering experience.
• Proficiency in React, Node, Type Script, Go, Python, and Cloud
  
  SQL (or similar relational database).
• Track record of shipping high‑quality products at scale.
• Strong knack for getting the visuals right.
• Understanding of observability and a passion for digging into details to solve performance and user‑experience issues.
• Ability to thrive in a rapidly growing organization and to lead solutions proactively.
• Eagerness to work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment and constantly grow & develop craft.
• Expert communication and collaboration skills with product teams.
• Experience with fintech or consumer apps is a plus.

• React frontend with Styled Components, Material‑UI, and CSS modules for styling.
• React‑query/Axios for API calls.
• Type Script/Node, Python, Go, and Socket.io in the backend.
