** Introduction*
* IBM Quantum is seeking motivated computer science and engineering students to learn about and develop the world's first large-scale, fault-tolerant quantum computer. You will help extend our pulse-level quantum compiler, which targets a distributed, heterogeneous, hard-real-time microwave control system for superconducting quantum computers, to support our next-generation logical qubit control system.
** Your role and responsibilities*
* * Extend and enhance our pulse-level quantum compiler to support a next-generation logical qubit control system.
* Design and implement compiler passes and backend targets for a distributed, heterogeneous, hard-real-time microwave control system.
* Develop software and automation tools for testing and validating compiler correctness and real-time performance.
* Collaborate with control systems, FPGA, and runtime development teams to integrate compiler output with hardware targets.
** Required technical and professional expertise*
* * Pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
* Experience with Rust and Python.
* Experience in compiler design/implementation, robotics or real-time control systems, or microwave/RF systems.
