As a Senior Java AI-Enabled Engineer, you will join a fully AI-native pod to design and build high-performance Java services for large enterprise clients, while pioneering AI-assisted engineering workflows. You won't just use AI tools. You will build reusable skills, orchestrate agents to handle boilerplate, and show the team and our clients what AI-accelerated delivery looks like in practice. This is an opportunity to review an already-built library of 500+ reusable AI skills, where you will both draw on it and add to it.

• Work on a high-velocity, AI-native scrum team
• Develop and own features end to end in Java and Spring Boot, from design through production
• Architect and implement scalable, high-throughput Java applications and integration middleware
• Create, refine, and share AI skills that capture team best practices, and use existing skills to accelerate delivery
• Use AI agents to handle boilerplate and repetitive engineering work, freeing the team for higher-value design and problem solving
• Demonstrate AI value to teammates and clients through live demos, measurable cycle-time gains, and clear before/after comparisons
• Maintain 90% unit and integration test coverage using AI-generated testing frameworks
• Optimize code review latency with AI-generated summaries and risk flags
• Work with clients to turn real-world problems into solutions, acting as a trusted advisor rather than just an implementer
• Provide estimates and milestones for features and stories
• Help the team lead facilitate development processes
• Work with your mentor to learn and grow, and mentor less experienced engineers
• Contribute to the growth of InRhythm through interviewing and architecting

• 5–8 years of Java development building and shipping production-grade applications within an enterprise-level domain
• Strong Java skills:
  Java 8 (11+ preferred), including lambda expressions, Stream API, Completable Future, asynchronous programming, and multithreading
• Deep experience with Spring and Spring Boot, including implementing APIs and microservices
• Direct experience using GenAI tooling (e.g., Claude Code, Git Hub Copilot, Amazon Q) in a professional engineering environment
• Hands-on experience creating and using AI skills (reusable, packaged instructions and workflows) and directing AI agents to generate boilerplate and automate routine engineering tasks
• Proven ability to drive high test coverage and automated quality, with a track record of zero critical defects and clean code reviews
• Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL
• Experience with systems design, CI/CD pipelines, and production operations at the service level
• Cloud computing experience, preferably AWS
