Bloomberg Connects is a rapidly growing, free platform that helps museums, galleries, and cultural spaces make their institutions, stories and dynamic content more engaging to audiences around the world. The Visitor Experience team owns the mobile and web applications that millions of visitors use to discover, navigate, and connect with cultural institutions.

Hold clear expectations, raise the engineering bar, and coordinate delivery with Product for a team of four senior engineers.

This is a player‑coach role — you keep building, reviewing, and making technical calls alongside the team, not a management track that pulls you out of the work.

We're transforming this organization into an agentic engineering organization — one where engineers spend more of their judgment on systems understanding and architecture, and AI takes on more of the code production itself.

Work with the Head of Product and Engineering to drive that shift on your team, and hold the team to the standard it requires.

• Own delivery and engineering standards for the Visitor Experience team — four senior engineers across our React Native mobile app and web

• Hold clear expectations and a rising bar for engineering quality across the team

• Partner with the Visitor Experience PM as a peer: assess feasibility, advocate for the engineering work required to hit outcomes, and push back where quality or delivery risk demands it

• Partner with the Head of Product and Engineering to drive the team's shift to agentic engineering practices, and lead the team through that change — setting expectations, addressing resistance, and coaching engineers into new ways of working

• Push the team toward systems understanding and architecture as the primary craft, as AI increasingly handles code production

• Stay hands‑on enough to review critical technical decisions and unblock the team, without defaulting to doing the coding yourself

• Represent the team's technical work and constraints to stakeholders outside the team

• 10+ years of hands‑on software engineering experience, including production mobile and/or web applications

• 5+ years leading or managing engineers, ideally in a player‑coach capacity

A Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent work experience
