Head of Platform Engineering — High-Frequency Trading
New York, NY
A New York HFT that has been consistently profitable for over a decade and doubled its PnL last year. Small, well-capitalised and deliberately low-profile, they're looking for one person to own their engineering function end to end.
This is a rare ownership seat. You'll set the technical direction, modernise the stack, grow & lead the team, and stay hands-on in the code.
WHAT YOU'LL DO- Own the architecture and technical direction of the trading systems
- Modernise and evolve an established low-latency C++ codebase
- Lead and mentor the engineering team
- Stay hands-on — design and write production code, not just manage
- Work directly with traders and the founder on firm priorities
- A strong engineering background from another HFT or top-tier trading firm
- Deep, hands-on expertise in low-latency systems (C++)
- A track record of owning systems end to end, ideally somewhere you've seen the whole picture rather than one narrow lane
- The judgement to lead and set direction while staying technical
- Based in, or willing to relocate to, New York
