** Mobile QA Engineer (Android)

This role will play a critical part in ensuring product quality, reliability, and security across a complex ecosystem used by major retail customers.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead quality assurance efforts for a sophisticated Android-based retail technology platform.
* Perform comprehensive manual testing of Android applications, with Android testing representing the majority of day-to-day responsibilities.
* Validate functionality across multiple system layers, including:  + Android mobile applications  + Embedded firmware  + Hardware integration components
* Execute test plans focused on security, loss prevention, and product reliability.
* Identify, document, and track defects while collaborating closely with engineering teams to drive resolution.
* Work independently as the primary QA owner for assigned product initiatives.
* Partner with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure high-quality releases.
* Support occasional user acceptance testing (UAT), product demonstrations, and customer-facing validation activities when needed.
* Collaborate with globally distributed engineering teams, including colleagues supporting computer vision and AI initiatives.
* Contribute ideas and improvements to testing processes and future automation efforts.

Required Qualifications
* 5+ years of Quality Assurance experience, with a strong focus on
** mobile application testing**.  + Exceptional candidates with 3+ years of highly hands-on Android QA experience may also be considered.
* Strong expertise in
** Android testing**.
* Experience with:  + Android Debug Bridge (ADB)  + Android device-level testing and troubleshooting  + Mobile application validation across multiple Android devices
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
* Ability to work independently with minimal day-to-day supervision.
* Comfortable operating in a highly technical engineering environment.
* Willingness and ability to work onsite in New York City five days per week.

Preferred Qualifications The following experience is highly desirable but not required:
* Embedded systems, hardware, or firmware testing experience.
* Point-of-sale (POS) or payments platform testing experience.
* Test automation experience.
* iOS mobile testing experience.
* Experience testing products that integrate software, hardware, and real-world user interactions.
