We are a trading platform built to let people trade anything, anytime, and anywhere. From one non-custodial app, users can trade perpetual markets in stocks, pre-IPO companies, indices, commodities, FX, and crypto, as well as prediction markets on real-world events. Liquid was the first to bring trading into ChatGPT, and its Co-Invest product now brings conversational research and trade execution to Claude, ChatGPT, and iMessage.

We have raised $25M to date, including a Series A backed by Paradigm, Left Lane Capital, and NEO. The company is at roughly $7M to $8M in annualized gross revenue, with a gross margin of around 50%, is growing close to 100% month over month, and is posting record weeks and months. The team is small, flat, and composed of senior operators at every position, with plans to expand into an institutional business.

This role sits on the team responsible for reliability, automation, and user experience across a mobile trading platform used by tens of thousands of traders. The hire combines strong coding ability with product judgment to build fast, high-performance trading systems and interactive, intuitive mobile experiences that users can depend on. Work spans the core trading app and newer surfaces such as Co-Invest, the company's AI trading agent.

Liquid has built a great deal with a very small team and intends to keep it that way. Every engineer is expected to own product areas end-to-end, make technical and product decisions in close collaboration with designers and engineers, and ship without breaking core systems. The environment is high-intensity and built for experienced engineers who want outsized impact at a company with visible momentum.

• Designing and building interactive, intuitive user experiences for a mobile trading platform
• Building highly performant, low-latency trading systems
• Driving reliability and automation across the platform so core systems stay stable as volume scales
• Shaping technical and product direction alongside designers and engineers
• Owning features end to end, from decision through implementation, across the core app and new products such as Co-Invest

• At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience, ideally in a high-velocity startup or similarly demanding environment
• Demonstrated ability to operate with strong autonomy: owning product areas, identifying problems, making decisions, and executing without extensive direction
• High standard for craft and reliability, with genuine attention to detail and a track record of moving quickly without repeatedly breaking core systems
• Genuine passion for trading and financial markets
• Genuine desire to work in person in New York. (Visa sponsorship is available for exceptional candidates)

• Professional experience in trading, fintech, markets, or adjacent financial products (Bloomberg, Citadel, SIG, Hudson River Trading, Kalshi, Polymarket, or similar)
• Strong academic rigor;
  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely related field, with GPA treated as a meaningful signal
• Experience with React and Python, used across the company's platforms and backend components
• Open-source contribution history, or a trading or Olympiad competition background
