About the Team:
As a Software Developer in Test (SDET) at Medidata, you will raise the standard of product quality across our cloud-based, full solutions-oriented PaaS environment while tackling high-impact, challenging engineering problems. Over your first 6 to 12 months, you will directly drive product reliability by integrating resilient UI/API acceptance tests to close automation gaps in our CI/CD pipelines, embedding Context-Driven Testing and Session-Based Test Management into daily sprint planning, and leveraging modern AI coding assistants like Git Hub Copilot to accelerate test creation without compromising architectural integrity.
This role will report on the Coder+ Testing team.
- Implement Context-Driven Testing and Session-Based Test Management to evaluate risks and test effectiveness.
- Translate user stories/requirements into comprehensive tests.
- Identify tasks, dependencies, and risks during backlog grooming and planning, providing reasonable test estimates and feedback on priorities.
- Investigate, diagnose, and address technical issues and product risks based on impact assessments.
- Understand and proactively apply modern test design principles to increase overall test effectiveness.
- Utilize and enhance automation frameworks to create resilient test scripts across different layers (e.g., UI and API Acceptance Tests).
- Identify gaps in the current automation suite and help prioritize them into the team backlog.
- Assist with effective test reporting and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure CI/CD pipelines have thorough test coverage.
- Contribute to the continuous evaluation of new testing tools, techniques, and strategies.
- We leverage AI coding assistants to accelerate development, but we require a strong software engineering foundation. You must have the coding aptitude to effectively prompt the AI, rigorously review its output, and confidently own the final architecture.
- Collaborate closely with developers and business analysts to provide constructive feedback on software design and testability.
- Drive the adoption of modern test practices, process improvements, and new initiatives across the team.
- Share product knowledge, present ideas to other teams, and foster an inclusive, collaborative environment.
- Support team members, represent Medidata at external industry forums, and occasionally participate in the hiring process.
- Preferred Modern Tooling
- Experience building and managing CICD pipelines (Github Actions)
- We encourage the use of AI tools (like Git Hub Copilot), but you must possess the core engineering skills to critically review, debug, refactor and refine the generated…
