Overview
Kastle Systems is a physical access control company. The Systems Integration team connects Kastle's platform to the systems our customers and partners already run. That includes Kastle's APIs, such as event delivery to security and operations platforms; identity provisioning through SCIM with providers like Okta and Microsoft Entra; and integrations with third-party visitor management, mobile credential, and middleware platforms.
As a Junior Systems Integration Engineer, you will support the head engineer and the wider team across integration support and implementation work. You will take on a defined share of tickets and projects, learn how each integration works end to end, and build toward owning smaller integrations yourself. Your work helps our core Product and Engineering teams receive clear, reproducible cases instead of raw customer reports.
Our success is driven by the combination of advanced technology and talented people. We are proud to be a Certified Great Place to Work®, recognized for a culture that prioritizes both professional excellence and employee well-being. In addition to a great work environment, we provide a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) plan, and generous paid time off.
Our offerings also include tuition and training assistance, Bright Horizons lifestyle assistance, life and disability insurance, and wellness programs. For more information on what it's like to work with us, please visit Life at Kastle.
- Triage and work integration support tickets. Gather payloads, logs, and configuration details; reproduce the issue; identify the likely cause; resolve what falls within the team's scope; and route the rest with a complete case.
- Write clear bug cases in Jira for Product and Engineering: steps to reproduce, expected and actual behavior, and supporting evidence.
- Support customer and partner implementations. Help set up SCIM connections, API access, and file-based integrations; run test plans and user acceptance testing; and confirm results before go-live.
- Validate and reconcile data. Prepare and check import files, match and de-duplicate identity and credential records, normalize formats, and confirm that source systems and Kastle agree.
- Test APIs. Use Postman or scripts to exercise REST endpoints and confirm authentication, token handling, pagination, and event delivery behave as documented.
- Maintain documentation. Keep integration guides, runbooks, the troubleshooting knowledge base, and after action reports accurate and current.
- Support SDK adoption. Help partners and customers implement Kastle's mobile SDK and keep implementation guidance up to date.
- Keep work visible. Maintain tickets and project boards, and contribute to weekly status and integration health reporting.
- Work in the team's sprint cycle, alternating between new implementation work and operations and support work.
- Handle customer data responsibly. Access events and identity records contain personal information; you will follow the team's data handling practices.
- Draft customer and partner communications for review, and take on more direct communication as you gain experience.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 1 to 3 years in a technical role such as integration, support engineering, QA, solutions, or systems administration. Internships and substantial project work count.
- Working knowledge of REST APIs and JSON, including HTTP status codes and token-based authentication, and hands-on use of Postman or a similar tool.
- Basic understanding of identity concepts: single sign-on, directory services, and identity…
