Director of Aquatics

Director of Aquatics Physique Swim School - New York

Aquatics director is responsible for all day-to-day pool operations, the overall planning, development, management and supervision of all aquatic programs of the site.

• Ensure safety in and around the pool area.
• Report to upper management and coordinate all programming, facility management between all site staff.
• Manage all aquatic staff and program schedules.
• Document all necessary reports including incident reports.
• Enforce compliance with all safety regulations among staff and patrons.
• Schedule lessons, programs and events for the swim/day camp program.
• Train and supervise aquatics staff, including lifeguards and maintenance.
• Will oversee the entire operation during the weekdays and report to management.
• Adhere to all health protocols.

• Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
• Certified in CPR, AED, First Aid.
• Valid WSI and lifeguard certification from a recognized organization.
• Bachelor's degree in recreational therapy, physical education or related field.
• Knows and performs proper emergency procedures.
• 3+ years related experience as an aquatics director or supervisor.
• Completion of aquatics training certifications or equivalent:
  • American Red Cross Lifeguard and/or equivalent
  • American Red Cross Instructor
  • American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor
  • American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Trainer
  • Certified Pool Operator

• Previous experience as a aquatics camp director, lifeguard or swim instructor.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to positively interact with fellow staff, students, and customers.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

All Physique Swimming instructors are Red Cross certified for WSI, Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR.
