Responsibilities- Strategic leadership of all activities and outcomes for the Colgate Field Hockey program, including sustained performance and execution in areas such as athletic instruction, student‑athlete development, welfare, scouting, competition preparation, team management, scheduling, roster management, competitive outcomes, and hiring and oversight of assistant coaches.
- Recruitment and management of student‑athletes, attracting and evaluating top prospects, allocating scholarship and admission resources, ensuring academic progress and well‑being, and adherence to institutional policies.
- Creation of a culture of compliance with governing bodies (NCAA, conference, athletic department, university policies).
- Budget development and management, supporting athletics fundraising efforts.
- Effective supervision of staff, hiring, work assignment distribution, performance assessment, professional development, disciplinary measures, and employment status consultation.
- Positive relationships and communication with alumni, community, fans, parents, faculty, and other stakeholders.
- Role modeling positive behaviors and leadership for student‑athletes.
- Five (5) years of collegiate or equivalent high‑level field hockey coaching experience.
- Significant knowledge of field hockey.
- Proven success coaching at the collegiate level.
- Ability to recruit, develop and motivate Division I student‑athletes.
- Strong commitment to student‑athletes’ academic success.
- Knowledge of and commitment to university, conference and NCAA regulations.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong leadership.
Previous NCAA Division I field hockey playing or coaching experience and/or previous collegiate head coaching experience.
Education- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Master’s degree preferred.
Valid driver’s license required.
