The Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake is seeking dependable, safety-focused Wading Pool/Pool Attendants to provide a safe, clean, and enjoyable aquatic experience for all pool patrons. Reporting to the Recreation Program Specialist, this role combines supervision, basic maintenance, program support, and customer service to ensure high-quality recreation experiences at Town pool facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise wading pool and pool areas to ensure safety, accident prevention, and adherence to health guidelines.
- Assist with admissions, Point of Sale (POS) operations, and program administration.
- Maintain pool equipment, perform basic chemical and facility maintenance, and complete janitorial tasks.
- Respond promptly to emergencies and use safety/rescue equipment as required.
- Engage with the public, provide program information, and promote Town activities and events.
- Maintain accurate records, logs, and reports in accordance with Town procedures.
- Support a safe, welcoming, and professional environment for staff and patrons.
- Current Standard First Aid, CPR-C, and AED certification.
- Lifesaving Society Bronze Medallion, Bronze Cross, or Pool Attendant certifications are an asset.
- Previous customer service experience is an asset.
- Ability to perform basic pool maintenance and janitorial duties.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with the public and team members.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
- Ability to operate POS systems and maintain program records.
- Knowledge of the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake is an asset.
- Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays at multiple locations.
- Seasonal position with variable hours based on program schedules and operational needs.
- Work is conducted at outdoor aquatic facilities.
- Contribute to a safe and enjoyable aquatic experience for the community.
- Gain hands-on experience in municipal recreation and aquatics programs.
- Work in a supportive, professional team environment with opportunities for skill development.
