Equinox locations in New York City are currently seeking Barre Instructors. The position entails the following responsibilities. This is not a complete description; additional responsibilities may be presented during employment.

• Deliver the Equinox Experience to our members in each class.
• Adhere to the description of the class and modify the intensity for participants when necessary.
• Continuously monitor the exercise intensity throughout the duration of the class.
• Ensure class begins and ends on time.
• Teach respective classes on a regular basis and keep subbing to a minimum.
• Teach a minimum of 2–5 regularly scheduled classes and keep subbing to a minimum, with availability in two day parts: early morning, evening and/or weekends.
• Communicate with Group Fitness Manager on member feedback, equipment and operational status, scheduling, and subbing.

• Current certification in barre discipline.
• Experience teaching barre.
• Valid CPR/AED certification.
• Well‑versed in basic anatomy, kinesiology, contraindicated exercises, and exercise modifications for all populations.
• Eager to learn and continue professional development and education.
• Friendly, vibrant, and outgoing.

• Ability to run, jump, walk, bend, balance, and perform upper and lower body weight‑bearing movements.
• Ability to effectively demonstrate all movements.

$60–$80 per class; $17/hr for non‑class work.
