Position Summary:
The Coordinator Load Planning performs weight & balance calculations to ensure safe and efficient use of Jet Blue aircraft. The Coordinator takes proactive measures to avoid potential weight & balance issues, reducing delay risk, and ensures that the aircraft load is within an acceptable center of gravity condition for takeoff, flight, and landing.
- Perform weight and balance related activities on Jet Blue Airways flights
- Plan and communicate payload data and compartment load plans on a timely basis
- Manage the processing of flights including weight restrictions and closeout procedures
- Communicate with and support Station Operations, Flight Crews, System Operations and Dispatch regarding weight and balance activities
- Work with Dispatch and Flight Crews to resolve payload, fuel, and weight restriction issues
- Ad-hoc administrative duties, as directed
High School/GED
Minimum Experience and Qualifications- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
- One (1) year of airline Operations experience or educational background in aviation
- Must be available to work shift work, including nights, weekends, holidays, and shifts of varying lengths
- Ability to work well with others, perform under pressure and under fixed time constraints
- Strong organizational skills and detail oriented
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
- Available for overnight travel (10%)
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test
- Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
- Authorization to work in the US is required; this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
- Holds Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Dispatch license
- Two (2) years of Jet Blue Airport and/or Ground Operations experience
- Experience in determining aircraft weight and balance limitations
- Experience using Sabre applications
- Regular attendance and punctuality
- Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short notice
- Able to maintain a professional appearance
- When working or traveling on Jet Blue flights, assist with light cleaning of the aircraft when time permits
- Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the Jet Blue culture, exhibiting Jet Blue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun
- Promote Jet Blue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting SMS components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards
- Identify safety and/or security concerns, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them using Jet Blue’s confidential reporting systems (ASAP or SAR)
- Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls
- Uphold Jet Blue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to duties and responsibilities

CompensationThe starting pay for this position starts at $23.56 per hour. Base pay is one component of Jet Blue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) program and company match, crew member stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on Jet Blue, and more.
