Brief Description
Job Overview:
The Center for Discovery is seeking a dedicated and experienced certified 19A Bus Driver to join
our team. In this role, you will operate the vehicle safely, transporting individuals with
disabilities to and from designated locations. You will also be responsible for following all traffic
laws and safety regulations, assisting passengers with boarding, seating, and securing mobility
aids as needed, maintaining a clean and organized bus interior, and performing pre-trip and
post-trip inspections of the bus.
The position also involves providing medical transportation to New York City as needed, as well as assisting with local Day Hab transportation. This includes operating wheelchair-accessible lift vehicles and ensuring the safe and comfortable transportation of individuals with mobility needs.
Qualifications:
Valid 19A certification.
Minimum of 2 years of experience driving in an education and residential setting.
Clean driving record.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
