Job Purpose
:
The Warehouse Lead is responsible for overseeing all daily warehouse operations, ensuring the efficient and accurate handling of orders and inventory through a combination of manual and automated processes. This role involves managing the full lifecycle of warehouse activities, including receiving, stocking, inventory, order picking, packing, staging, shipping, returns processing, cycle counts, and general warehouse upkeep. The Warehouse Lead plays a critical role in coordinating workflow, leading a team of warehouse associates, and supporting overall business objectives through effective leadership, communication, and organization.

Job duties and responsibilities

Coordinating Operations
:
Oversee daily warehouse activities, including shipping, receiving, inventory management, order fulfillment, returns processing, and distribution.

Oversee inbound and outbound operations, including receiving, put-away/organization, order picking, packing, staging, and shipping.

Coordinate workflow and prioritize tasks to maximize team efficiency and meet operational targets.

Train, mentor, and support warehouse associates in proper procedures and best practices.

Maintain accurate records of all warehouse activities using WMS and other internal systems.

Identify and implement process improvements to streamline operations and enhance accuracy.

Report performance metrics and assist in workforce planning, scheduling, and performance reviews.

Inventory Management: monitors inventory levels, tracks stock, and may be involved in ordering new supplies.

Ensure timely and accurate inventory transactions, including cycle counts, stock adjustments, and returns.

Communication:
Communicate with other departments and sometimes external vendors or customers regarding order status and other relevant information.

Communicate effectively with internal departments (e.g., purchasing, logistics, customer service) to resolve issues and support business needs.

Equipment and System Management:
Responsible for maintaining warehouse equipment and implementing warehouse management systems to improve efficiency.

Maintaining a Safe and Organized Environment:
This includes ensuring the warehouse is clean, organized, and that safety protocols are followed.

Monitor and enforce adherence to company policies, safety standards, and housekeeping practices. Operate warehouse equipment safely and ensure team compliance with equipment protocols.

Supervising and Managing Staff:
Warehouse leads oversee warehouse personnel, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and safely.

They also;

Prepare weekly payroll, compile employee hours from the time clock system, and work with warehouse team members to address timekeeping discrepancies and omissions in a timely manner.

Supervise and lead the warehouse team to meet daily productivity, safety, and quality goals.

Assist with the coordination of new employee paperwork/onboarding, ensuring forms are completed accurately, and forwarding appropriate documentation to Human Resources.

Set up new employees in the timekeeping system.

Evaluate employees’ performance, providing valuable feedback for improvement.

Perform field exit processes for jobsite personnel.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

High school diploma, GED, or and equivalent certification with,

5+ years of office administration work

Proficient computer skills, with advanced knowledge of MS Office, specifically Word Excel.

Knowledge of Quick Books programs, and Accounts Receivable experience an asset.

Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills required

Excellent time management with the ability to multi-task and work with a sense of urgency, prioritizing tasks is necessary

Must be able to lift up to 20lbs
