New York Bus Sales, the largest authorized Blue Bird School Bus dealership in New York State currently has an immediate opening for a Warehouse Associate in our Chittenango, NY location.

New York Bus Sales is a full-service dealership offering sales, service, parts, and graphics. We provide safe, dependable buses for our customers and professional services to meet their needs.

Job Summary

The primary function of the Warehouse Associate is to physically maintain the Warehouse and Storeroom areas, process incoming and outgoing shipments, and to store product and supply inventory neatly, accurately, and efficiently. All Warehouse Associates are responsible for every function performed in the department; this includes Shipping and Receiving duties.

Supervision

The Warehouse Associate performs a variety of routine duties within established policies and procedures or by referring to the supervisor's guidelines. Most duties are completed independently.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities Receiving
  • Check incoming merchandise against purchase orders for quantity discrepancies and damaged goods.
  • Notate, investigate, and correct any discrepancies with the vendor.
  • Ensure every part received is labeled with our part number.
  • Distribute received items to the correct storage location or to the shipping bench/ service bench as directed by the receiving report.
  • Pull, bill, and ship internal inventory transfers.
  • Allocate warranty, cores, and new merchandise returns to the proper staging areas.
Shipping
  • Print, accurately pick, and stage sales orders for shipping or customer pick up.
  • Determine the best delivery method to meet customer needs (motor freight, UPS, etc.).
  • Process payments for sales orders (charge, credit card, etc.).
  • Dispatch deliveries with parts driver.
General
  • Safely operate material handling equipment (forklift, pallet jacks, hand carts) to move product throughout the building and grounds.
  • Organize and relocate inventory as needed, maintaining accurate bin locations in system.
  • Conduct inventory counts as directed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow 5S cleanliness standards and other work practices.
  • Follow all prescribed safety methods and perform work safely.
  • Report inventory discrepancies for investigation and correction.
  • Provide best in class customer service.
  • Follow established Company policy and Department procedures and workflows to complete tasks.
  • Ensure parts orders are delivered to both internal and external customers accurately, efficiently, and within the customer’s expected deadline to maintain superior customer service levels.
  • Notify parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention.
Required Knowledge/ Qualifications/ Skills/ Abilities
  • Demonstrate good organizational skills.
  • Properly make use of company POS system.
  • Make good business decisions in accordance with established procedures and policies.
  • Sufficient speech and hearing for regular, professional, in person, and telephone communication with all customers, other employees and supervisors.
  • Understand oral and written company and industry correspondence sufficiently to communicate with customers and participate in all other parts department activities.
  • Write or type sufficiently to communicate with customers and vendors via email or fax.
  • Perform numeric calculations accurately.
  • Have transportation to/from other NYBS facilities, customer locations, seminars, workshops to perform duties as required.
  • Be safety conscious and demonstrate the ability to follow prescribed safety practices to prevent injuries to self and others.

Full-time, Monday thru Friday, Day shift.
