Position OverviewOur client is seeking a detail-oriented Maintenance Inventory Control Specialist for a contract assignment at an industrial facility in Grand Island, NY. This role is responsible for managing maintenance spare parts inventory, maintaining accurate inventory records, coordinating purchasing activities, and ensuring maintenance personnel have the materials and supplies needed to complete their work efficiently.
The ideal candidate has previous warehouse or industrial inventory experience, strong organizational skills, and proficiency with computerized inventory systems and data entry.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain clean, organized, and safe warehouse and maintenance storage areas.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and perform data entry for Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Prepare purchase requisitions for spare parts and maintenance-related supplies.
- Monitor open orders, communicate with vendors, and follow up on outstanding purchases.
- Expedite orders when critical inventory shortages occur.
- Perform cycle counts and physical inventories while monitoring minimum and maximum stock levels.
- Label, organize, and arrange inventory to improve accessibility and efficiency for maintenance personnel.
- Maintain a computerized spare parts inventory system, including adding new items, improving descriptions, updating catalog information, and removing obsolete inventory records.
- Assemble maintenance parts kits to ensure technicians have the necessary components for scheduled preventive maintenance activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve inventory management, including vendor-managed inventory programs and supplier partnerships.
- Coordinate with purchasing and accounts payable to ensure materials and services are ordered correctly and invoices are processed accurately.
- Assist with purchase order adjustments and related documentation when necessary.
- Maintain a clean, safe work environment by promptly storing materials, removing trip hazards, and identifying equipment or facility maintenance needs.
Pay: $25.00 per hour
