Are you an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in direct project delivery? Have you worked on power or infrastructure projects? The Opportunity

Expanded Structures are the specialist reinforced concrete basement, sub and superstructure frame construction division of Laing O'Rourke and are currently recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the team in Friston.

We have been appointed as construction partner for National Grid's Great Grid Partnership programme, which forms part of a supply chain framework that will also support infrastructure projects beyond 2030.

What will the role look like?
  • Managing all commercial and quantity surveying duties across allocated work packages
  • Measurement, valuation, and agreement of works
  • Preparation and management of interim applications and payment certifications
  • Drafting, managing, and closing out subcontracts
  • Monthly cost reporting and commercial forecasting
  • Preparation, management, and negotiation of claims and final accounts
  • Identifying, pricing, and managing change control processes
  • Advising project teams on contractual obligations, commercial risks, and opportunities
  • Producing contract reviews, BPR information, and management reports
  • Supporting project budget establishment from contract award stage
  • Building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project stakeholders
  • Mentoring and supporting junior commercial team members
What skills & experience are we looking for?
  • Strong NEC contract knowledge
  • Proven experience in direct project delivery
  • Power and/or infrastructure sector experience
  • Degree qualified in relevant discipline (Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management)
  • Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors desirable but not essential.
