Role
As a Geotechnical Engineer, you will play a key role in the delivery of geotechnical projects from feasibility stage through to detailed design. You will be involved in both technical analysis and project delivery, working closely with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Responsibilities- Interpreting ground investigation data and preparing geotechnical reports.
- Undertaking foundation design, earthworks assessments, retaining wall design, and slope stability analysis.
- Developing geotechnical models and design recommendations.
- Managing and supervising site investigations.
- Liaising with clients, contractors, and internal project teams.
- Assisting with project management, programme delivery, and technical reviews.
- Supporting junior engineers and contributing to the growth of the team.
- A degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology or a related discipline.
- Previous experience within a geotechnical consultancy or engineering environment.
- Strong knowledge of ground investigation techniques and geotechnical design principles.
- Experience preparing factual and interpretative geotechnical reports.
- Familiarity with relevant UK standards and Eurocodes.
- Experience using industry software such as Geo5, Oasys, SLOPE/W, Wallap, or similar.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Chartered status or actively working towards Chartership (ICE or Geological Society).
- Experience across infrastructure, residential, commercial, or industrial developments.
- Geo-environmental experience would be advantageous.
