Forklift Truck (FLT) Driver

Job Purpose

To support warehouse and logistics operations by safely operating a forklift truck to move, load, unload, and store goods efficiently while maintaining high standards of health, safety, and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

Operate forklift trucks (Counterbalance, Reach, or other types as required) safely and efficiently.
Load and unload vehicles, ensuring goods are handled with care and accuracy.
Move stock to designated storage locations, following warehouse layout and stock rotation procedures.
Pick, pack, and prepare orders for dispatch when required.
Carry out routine equipment checks and report any faults or defects immediately.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation in the warehouse and yard areas.
Accurately complete paperwork and update warehouse management systems (WMS) where necessary.
Support general warehouse duties when not operating an FLT.
Skills & Experience

Valid and in-date FLT licence (Counterbalance and/or Reach as required).
Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment desirable.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure.
Basic numeracy and literacy skills.

Working Conditions

Shift work may be required (days, nights, weekends).
