Safety Coordinator

PABCO® Gypsum, a division of PABCO® Building Products LLC, has provided quality gypsum board products and service for over 35 years. PABCO® Gypsum supplies a complete line of gypsum products for commercial and residential construction.

The Newark, CA plant is currently accepting resumes for a Safety Coordinator
. Your job as a Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting human resources functions while promoting and maintaining a safe work environment, ensuring compliance with company policies, employment regulations, and workplace safety standards.

• Starting pay is $32 - $35 per hour, depending on experience.

• Training administration including recordkeeping and conducting in-person training.
• Engages, implements, and effectively communicates with plant employees and leadership on best practices as it pertains to HR and Safety.
• Conducting regular plant audits and providing communication to the staff about action items.
• Prepares and maintains a variety of routine to moderately complex reports for management.
• Eventually will take on Environmental tasks.
• Assist in HR functions, as needed.
• Assist in coordinating special events.
• Attends training and educational seminars as appropriate to learn regulatory requirements.
• Visibly demonstrates a personal commitment to safety and the safety of all employees and contractors.
• Abide by all safety rules set forth by company and government regulatory agencies and ensure that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
• All other special projects or tasks, as assigned.

• College Degree; and
• Two (2) or more years related experience and/or training; or
• Equivalent combination of education and experiences.
• PHR Certification preferred.

• This is a full-time onsite position.
• Typically, Monday – Friday; although there may be the occasional need for weekend work.
• The working day is expected to be 7 AM – 4 PM or 8 AM – 5 PM.
