Job DescriptionAs Senior Durability CAE Engineer, you will lead the assessment of durability attributes for various vehicle subsystems (Suspension, Body Structures, Powertrain, Battery Pack, interiors, exteriors, closures, seating, etc.). You will also be involved in testing activities such as test plan development, test‑to‑CAE correlation, testing & validation, and drive design changes through trade‑off studies and optimization loops. You will work with regulatory, certification, and compliance testing, and with full‑system, subsystem, and component level testing.
Responsibilities- Perform strength, stiffness, and fatigue analysis on vehicle subsystems such as chassis, closures, body structure, powertrain, etc.
- Perform correlation between test data and CAE results.
- Maintain traceable documentation for all durability analysis and test work.
- Create FEM mesh from CAD or rough sketches.
- Support design engineers to ensure parts meet durability requirements.
- Learn and use various CAE software tools (nCode Design Life, ANSA, Meta Post, Opti Struct, Hyperworks CAE products, ADAMS, etc.).
- Test and benchmark new analysis tools and techniques. Participate in new CAE method development, process automation, and benchmarking tasks.
- 5+ years of related experience;
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. - Experience in vehicle‑level CAE analysis, testing, and development.
- Experience with linear, non‑linear, fatigue, design optimization, and dynamic analysis using industry‑standard CAE tools.
- Strong fundamental knowledge of structures and mechanics of materials.
- Proficiency in ANSA, Hyper Mesh, Hyper View, Meta Post, nCode, Opti Struct or comparable CAE software.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle performance requirements, load‑case derivation, performance target setting, and testing/validation plan development.
