We are currently seeking a talented and passionate Technical Specialist Systems Modeling to join the Efficiency, Performance, and Systems team. The primary responsibility of this role is to lead a small team of modeling engineers. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches their work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities- Grow and mentor a high performing team of modeling engineers and champion a culture of collaboration, innovation, psychological safety, and accountability.
- Collaborate with multiple engineering departments to understand physics, create models, and collect parameters for system level modeling.
- Develop and maintain system models to solve mechanical, electrical, and thermal problems in electric vehicles.
- Build tools to support the pre-processing of simulation parameters and the post-processing of simulation results.
- Analyze the effect of changing parameters on the behavior of single components and complete systems.
- Couple the effects of different systems in an EV, including motor, gearbox, inverter, battery, charger, chassis, cooling, HVAC, and controls.
- Strong motivational skills to inspire and encourage the team.
- 5+ years of experience in systems modeling, validation and verification within automotive or adjacent industries.
- Fundamental knowledge in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and energy systems.
- Excellent communication skills in both technical and non-technical environments.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with hardware, software, and test teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience and knowledge of electric vehicles including batteries, drive units, motor control, and power electronics.
- Demonstrated success in building scalable systems, teams, and processes in a high-performance environment.
- Master's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related discipline.

The compensation range for this position is location-dependent and takes into account job-related knowledge, skillset, experience, education, and other relevant factors.
