Job DescriptionInsight Global is seeking a Design Engineer to work onsite at an Electric Vehicle company in Newark, CA
. In this role, you will:
- Develop world-class interior components and systems.
- Lead design and launch efforts in collaboration with cross‑functional teams and suppliers.
- Apply innovative tools and CAD expertise to deliver luxury, safety, and performance.
- 4+ years of experience as an Interior Components and Systems development lead (e.g., Hard trim, Soft trim, IP, Door trims, Consoles, Headliners).
- Knowledge of automotive interior components and systems industry benchmarks, trends, and supplier capabilities.
- Ability to create, improve, and establish technical product specifications and timelines for accelerated development toward SOP.
- Proficiency in CAD for creating 2D/3D concept drawings, packaging layouts, and DFM studies.
- Vehicle and product launch experience.
- Prior startup experience.
- Full program cycle experience from concept to production launch in automotive interior components and systems.
- Deep knowledge of vehicle interior components and systems with a proven track record of technical excellence and program execution.
- Strong understanding of plastic parts design, structural performance, manufacturing technologies, craftsmanship, ergonomics, safety, and homologation requirements.
- Competency in materials selection, plastic injection molding/DFM, and GD&T.
