The Vehicle Efficiency Engineering (VEE) team is responsible for vehicle-level attributes that directly impact efficiency, performance, and customer experience. Working closely with product development, manufacturing, testing, validation, and attribute teams, Efficiency Engineering plays a critical role in delivering efficient, high-performing vehicles that meet customer expectations and regulatory requirements. Through a combination of engineering expertise, data-driven decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration, the team influences key decisions from concept development through production launch and beyond.
Aboutthe Role
As a Cabin Thermal Systems Engineer within Vehicle Efficiency Engineering, you will develop and validate thermal comfort attributes alongside the team. You will develop instrumentation and models, instrument vehicles, and contribute to thermal comfort test planning, data analysis, and feature validation. You will work with cross-functional partners to investigate customer-reported issues and support changes that improve vehicle-level thermal comfort. The role combines hands‑on testing, engineering fundamentals, systems thinking, and curiosity in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary environment.

- Attribute Delivery:
Work with a team spanning diverse backgrounds and expertise to meet vehicle attribute targets and support customer satisfaction. - Comfort Measurement:
Develop instrumentation and models to objectively measure thermal comfort. - DVP Validation:
Contribute to test plans, data analysis, and feature validation; plan and execute thermal comfort DVP testing and support analysis of the results. - Vehicle Instrumentation:
Instrument vehicles with relevant sensors to collect data for vehicle efficiency and thermal comfort. - Customer Issue Resolution:
Collaborate with hardware, software, NVH, and UI/UX teams to identify issues and implement changes addressing problems reported by internal and external customers. - Competitive Benchmarking:
Test competitive vehicles for energy-consumption and passenger thermal-comfort attributes.
- Excellent communication in technical and non-technical environments, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a passion for problem solving and learning.
- Systems-level thinking, knowledge of vehicle-level system optimization, and strong engineering fundamentals.
- Hands‑on experience with vehicles, testing systems, and data acquisition systems.
- Bachelor's degree with at least 2 years of relevant work experience, or a master's/PhD in a related engineering discipline.
- CFD experience and familiarity with tools such as GT‑Suite and TAI Therm.
- Vehicle testing experience and familiarity with Vector tools and external DAQ systems.
