R&D Finance Consultant

Our client, a clinical‑stage biotech company, is seeking an experienced R&D Finance Consultant to join their team, who will work closely with project management and clinical operations teams to support financial oversight of clinical trials. This position is onsite, 4 days per week, at their offices in Newark, CA. The engagement is expected to have a duration of 3 months or more, with potential for a permanent conversion.

• Partner with R&D project management teams to track trial expenses and improve financial acumen across teams.
• Review invoices from CROs against budgets and resolve discrepancies directly with CRO finance teams.
• Analyze key performance indicators and develop new methods to assess portfolio performance and returns.
• Conduct detailed reviews of clinical accruals and related data submissions.
• Build and maintain financial models to support decision‑making.

• 3+ years of experience in R&D finance within a public biotech or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of clinical trial financial processes and CRO interactions.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience building financial models.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
• Experience with Net Suite preferred.
