Job Summary:
As a Manufacturing Technician I, you’ll be an essential part of our reagent production team, helping to deliver the high-quality scientific products researchers rely on around the world. This full-time role located in Newark, California. You’ll follow detailed procedures to retrieve materials from bulk storage, measure and dispense using pipettes and analytical balances, label containers, and assemble kits for inventory.
This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys structured, routine work and takes pride in accuracy, consistency in support of our commitment to quality, accuracy, and scientific excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately measure and dispense reagents using pipettes and graduated cylinders in accordance with batch specifications.
- Fill and label non-sterile liquid products by hand or using automated equipment (e.g., printers, labelers, and electronic/mechanical fillers), including work in dark rooms and fume hood environments.
- Assemble product components and kits, including bottles, inserts, and instructions, ensuring all materials meet quality standards.
- Prepare and verify product labeling and packaging for compliance and accuracy.
- Maintain precise and compliant batch records using Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and direction from supervisors, managers, or team leads to ensure consistent, high-quality output.
- Monitor and communicate inventory status for manufacturing materials and finished products.
- Contribute to a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following lab safety and health guidelines.
- Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
- Perform additional duties and cross-train in other areas as assigned to support team goals.
Job Qualifications (Experience, Education, Knowledge, and Skills):
- High School Diploma or equivalent required;
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, or a related scientific field preferred. - 1–3 years of experience in a laboratory, biotech, pharmaceutical, or reagent manufacturing environment.
- Comfortable working with chemicals, lab-grade solvents, and scientific instrumentation.
- Experience with analytical balances, pipettes, graduated cylinders, and other standard lab tools.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills to ensure traceability and compliance.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as lab coats, gloves, and safety glasses.
- Familiarity with cleanroom practices, GMP, or ISO environments preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted and perform routine standing tasks.
- Reliable, organized, and comfortable working in a structured, process-driven environment.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative team mindset.
- Ability to work well under pressure and time constraints while maintaining a high level of work quality.
- Ability to work with animal plasma/serum-based products.
