Position: Technical Specialist, Embedded Infotainment (Audio)
Overview

Lucid Motors is leading the charge in redefining luxury electric vehicles. We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Specialist, Audio, to join our Infotainment Software team. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing, enhancing, integrating, optimizing, and delivering audio framework and HAL. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams such as application developers, architects and QA in developing and integrating new features and functions.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance large-scale software solutions for Android, including framework components and user-facing features related to audio and media.
  • Work on various layers of the Android audio stack, including the kernel level, Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL), and application frameworks.
  • Implement features like low-latency data exchange for audio and text.
  • Optimize system performance, ensuring stability, low latency, and minimal resource consumption.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 8+ years of experience preferably in Automotive domain
  • Strong knowledge of Android Audio Framework.
  • Strong programming skills, including C++, Java JNI, Binders, and IPC mechanisms.
  • Should have good knowledge/experience on middleware audio policy manager, audio flinger, android HAL, media server, and audio server.
  • Have good knowledge and understanding of Android development, and debugging tools.
  • Knowledge in design patterns, data structures, Object Oriented Programming Concepts, and Multi-threading.
  • Good to have knowledge of creating detailed SW architecture, requirements, and design documents
  • Good to have knowledge of UNIX, and Linux.
  • Experience in Automotive Infotainment systems / working in SDV is a plus.
  • Understanding of audio frameworks (QNX MMF/io-audio/Dev-A, OpenMAX, Android Player (NuPlayer/Stage Fright), Android Audio System (Audio Flinger, Audio Effect, Audio Policy manager), GStreamer, etc)
  • Experience in ALSA or Audio HAL, HIDL in Android is a plus.
  • Understanding of Codec2 interface in Android is a plus.
  • Experience in Agile methodologies and Scrum processes for Project Development.
  • Good team player and should follow agile development methodologies and ASPICE practice as part of the SW development lifecycle.
