Job Overview

Our client, a home services organization, is looking to hire an Inventory Controller to support all aspects of inventory management. This role plays a key part in improving inventory accuracy, strengthening internal controls, and supporting operational efficiency across several business units. 3 days onsite, 2 days remote.

• Manage day-to-day inventory accounting, including standard cost updates, adjustments, and month-end close tasks.
• Establish and refine procedures for capturing inventory activity accurately and consistently.
• Evaluate reserve requirements, aging, slow-moving inventory, and shrink; recommend appropriate entries and accruals.
• Lead physical inventories and cycle-count programs; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Work with Procurement and Operations to understand material consumption, returns, and cost fluctuations.
• Validate and monitor cost of goods sold (COGS) across equipment, materials, and consumables.
• Prepare and deliver monthly and quarterly inventory reports, KPIs, and variance analyses.
• Support enhancements and process improvements within ERP systems and inventory modules.
• Maintain strong internal controls over inventory-related processes.
• Provide guidance and oversight to inventory accounting staff.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline (CPA or CMA a plus).
• 7+ years of progressive experience in inventory or cost accounting within a multi-site, service-based, or manufacturing environment.
• Solid understanding of US GAAP, inventory valuation, and standard costing principles.
• Strong Excel abilities and familiarity with ERP systems (Sage Intacct, Service Titan, or similar).
