What to expect:

The Buyer will plan, schedule, and monitor the movement of materials through the production cycle to determine required materials purchases. As a Buyer you will obtain materials using engineering and production schedules to maintain inventory at planned levels. Resolve discrepancies. Create and maintain bills of material and parts/commodities numbers in supply chain management or other enterprise-wide systems. Ensures material standards are met and non-conformances or variances are approved and/or minimized.

Develops specifications for new contract orders. Gathers quotations, examines bids and makes awards. Monitors cost, delivery performance, quality, and scope of suppliers to assure best quality at best value. Evaluates supplier reliability and long-term value and develops new supply sources where needed.

What we expect:

• Responsible for planning requirements and supplier chain management to ensure timely (scheduled) deliveries of goods and services within budget and/or standard costs.
  • Executing, tracking, and expediting purchase orders to meet production requirements.
• Provide support and guidance on exceptions for transactional activities.
• Participate in local cross functional project teams.
• Perform basic sourcing analysis (e.g., Spend, Business Award scenarios).
• Support resolution of supplier delivery or quality issues.
• Participate in supplier agreement negotiations for site specific suppliers, including pricing and terms.
• Conduct local supplier reviews.
• Monitor adherence to contract terms.
• Participate and support the implementation of the Operations Risk Management Program (ORM).
• Actively support efforts to streamline activities within the department, support Value Improvement Projects and process improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

The Buyer works on problems of limited scope. Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained. Builds stable working relationships internally.

Learns to use professional concepts. Applies company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues following provided work instructions. Generally supports improvement initiatives and resolves issues based on guidance and direction from experienced co-workers and leadership.

• Bachelor’s Degree, May have Master’s Degree

Skillset:

• Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to build credible relationships with multiple functions, esp. Sales & Marketing
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including statistical analysis.
• Ability to effectively communicate and translate data to a variety of audiences
• Experience in Demand Planning and/or Sales & Operations Planning
• Advanced knowledge of S&OP systems and processes
• Proficiency PC/Window – MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Project

The annualized base salary range for this role is $48,900 – $76,400 and is bonus eligible. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs and market demand.
