Position: Assistant Project Manager - Construction Observation & Testing (COT)

Overview

Geo-Technology Associates, Inc. (GTA) is in search of a driven and ambitious Construction Observation and Testing Assistant Project Manager (COT APM) to join our team in Newark, Delaware. As a COT APM, you will oversee Construction Field Technicians in the field, conduct critical observations and testing for special inspections during site work and building construction, and meticulously prepare final reports. You will collaborate with Project Managers to coordinate personnel and equipment, work with technical experts to ensure seamless project execution, and engage with clients, project managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to address issues swiftly and ensure project requirements are met with efficiency.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee Construction Field Technicians in the field and conduct critical observations and testing for special inspections during site work and building construction
  • Prepare final reports with meticulous detail
  • Coordinate personnel and equipment in collaboration with Project Managers
  • Collaborate with technical experts to ensure seamless project execution
  • Engage with clients, project managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to address issues promptly and ensure project requirements are met
Qualifications
  • 2-5 years COT experience required
  • Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or related field is a plus, but not required
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to effectively coordinate projects
  • Good driving record, valid driver’s license and own vehicle
  • NICET, ICC, ACI or other certifications preferred but not required

This position may require standing for extended durations as well as repetitive motions such as lifting or hammering.
