Job Overview

Christiana Care, a nationally recognized leader in healthcare, is actively recruiting a BC/BE Internal Medicine Physician to join its established, hospital‑based Cardiology team as a Cardiac Hospitalist. This role provides inpatient cardiovascular disease care while working 2,100 clinical hours per year in 12‑hour shifts.

• Provide inpatient cardiovascular disease care with 2,100 clinical hours per year in 12‑hour shifts.
• Focus the scope of work exclusively on patients with primary cardiac diagnoses.
• Collaborate closely with interventional cardiologists, electrophysiologists, non‑invasive cardiologists, cardiology fellows, and advanced practice clinicians for effective co‑management of patients.
• Handle new admissions, acute care, overnight supervision/call, and provide support for patients with heart‑related conditions.
• Primary service cap of 16 patients for daytime rounding with opportunities for daily cardiology input.

Christiana Care Cardiovascular Consultants is a large, progressive, hospital‑based cardiology group that includes 25 cardiologists and 16 advanced practice clinicians. The Cardiology section includes diverse community‑based practices. The practice setting offers busy clinical practice, opportunities to participate in teaching of Cardiology Fellows and House staff, and engagement in clinical research. The Center for Heart and Vascular Health at Christiana Hospital sees on average 1,800 chest pain admissions and performs over 3,000 cardiac catheterizations, 1,400 PCIs, 1,600 EP procedures and 880 cardiac surgical procedures annually.

The Center also provides advanced heart failure services including placement and management of left‑ventricular assist devices. Christiana Care is affiliated with the Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University. In addition, the Center partners with Pennsylvania Hospital for cardiac transplantation and transplant medicine services.
