Cardiovascular Surgery Team, PA – Christiana Care

Full‑time Physician Assistant in the Cardiac Surgery Professional Services, promoting work/life balance with a hybrid schedule (five 8‑hour shifts or 12‑hour day/night shifts) and rotating 24/7 coverage, including OR call.

Annual base pay range: $ – $. Actual salary will depend on skills and experience.

• Perform endoscopic vein harvest; endoscopic radial artery harvest preferred.
• Assist cardiac surgeons during OR procedures.
• Conduct history and physical examinations and perform consultations.
• Manage patients perioperatively, including ICU and step‑down, and postoperative office care.
• Collaborate with physicians and medical staff.
• Screen patients for urgent medical needs.
• Prepare patients preoperatively for surgery.
• Evaluate and adjust patient therapy.
• Write orders and modify treatment plans.
• Educate and counsel patients and families on health and disease.

• Completion of a Physician Assistant Program and board certification.
• Licensure or license‑eligible status as a Registered Physician Assistant in Delaware.
• Certification or eligibility for National Commission of Physician Assistants.
• RXPA number permitting prescription of non‑controlled substances.
• DEA number permitting prescription of controlled substances.
• ACLS required.
• Minimum two years of experience; cardiac surgery experience preferred; equivalent combinations acceptable.
