Under the direction of the James

B. O’Neill Director of the Center for Economic Education & Entrepreneurship (CEEE), the Associate Director provides strategic leadership for both the University of Delaware’s CEEE and the MA in Economics & Entrepreneurship for Educators (MAEEE) program. This role advances the Center’s mission to equip K–12 educators with the content knowledge, pedagogical skills, and leadership capacity necessary to enhance economic, personal finance, and entrepreneurship education statewide.

The Associate Director oversees the development, implementation, and evaluation of high‑quality programming for K–12 educators and students. The Associate Director also provides guidance to the Director related to the MAEEE program. They serve as a liaison with the Delaware Department of Education, school districts, and other educational partners to ensure alignment with state and national standards and best practices. The Associate Director also supervises staff, mentors program participants, manages program evaluation and assessment, and supports grant and fundraising initiatives.

MAJOR

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic plans for CEEE and MAEEE, ensuring alignment with the University’s mission and statewide education priorities.
  • Support the Director in cultivating a strong organizational culture aligned with the Center’s mission and values.
  • Provide leadership in curriculum and professional learning program development for K–12 educators and graduate students.
  • Apply data‑driven decision‑making to guide program development, assessment, and improvement.
  • Advocate for economic and financial literacy education at the national, state, and local levels, supporting policy development and program initiatives.
  • Advise undergraduate students majoring in Economic Education.
  • Participate in University committees, boards, task forces, and cross‑curricular teams, such as the University’s Social Studies Advisory Committee.
MAEEE Program Administration
  • Support the MA in Economics & Entrepreneurship for Educators (MAEEE) program with recruitment, student mentoring, and progress monitoring.
  • Collaborate with University faculty to maintain a high‑quality graduate‑level curriculum and ensure integration with K–12 program offerings.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase MAEEE retention and completion rates.
  • Support capstone projects, field experiences, and student research initiatives.
Program Management & Evaluation
  • Design, implement, and evaluate K–12 programs, competitions, and professional development events, including evening and weekend sessions.
  • Supervise program staff, field specialists, and volunteers, providing mentorship, performance feedback, and professional development.
  • Coordinate the evaluation and assessment of all programs to measure impact and outcomes.
  • Ensure program alignment with national and state standards and best practices in economics, personal finance, and entrepreneurship education.
Educator & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Maintain strong communication with K–12 educators, school districts, and other educational partners.
  • Conduct lesson observations, follow‑up coaching, and mentoring to support teacher implementation of curricula.
  • Facilitate statewide initiatives related to personal finance requirements and economic education policy.
  • Serve on state committees focused on standards realignment, development, and assessment.
  • Collaborate with organizations such as the Federal Reserve Bank Education team on educational projects and presentations.
  • Assist in the development and submission of grant proposals to expand CEEE and MAEEE programming.
  • Contribute to promotional materials, newsletters, and web content to highlight program initiatives and impact.
  • Represent CEEE and MAEEE at professional conferences, coalitions, and public forums such as the Social Studies Coalition of Delaware and the National Association of Economic Educators.
