Project Bridge Engineer

Pennoni is hiring a Project Bridge Engineer to join our collaborative and fun team on a full-time, direct basis in our Newark, DE office.

The successful candidate will have experience performing bridge design as part of multi-disciplinary projects, mentoring and developing junior staff, and providing technical oversight. Responsibilities will include:

• Performing bridge design, rehabilitation, and load rating projects
• Overseeing multiple concurrent projects and tasks, including design and bridge inspections for multiple clients
• Mentoring staff and interacting with clients regarding technical challenges
• Generating proposals, including scopes of work and man-hour estimates
• Developing reports, specifications, and technical documents

Required attributes include:

• Essential software tools:
  AutoCAD, BIM, Microstation, OBU, In-Roads, and Geo Pak
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (focus on Structural Engineering), MS preferred
• 7-10 years of work experience
• PE license
• Ability to design all aspects of a typical bridge structure and solve challenges associated with design and rehabilitation projects
• Understanding of AASHTO and state DOT design criteria
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Preferred attributes include:

• Master's Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering
• Successful completion of FHWA-NHI-13005 and/or FHWA-NHI-130078
• Experience with proposal development, load rating, and BrIM or BIM work processes
