Base pay range$/yr - $/yr
Location: Newark, DE (Hybrid: 3 days onsite, 2 days remote)
Schedule: Full-time, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer with a proven background in the water and wastewater industry to join their growing team. This role offers the opportunity to lead impactful projects that enhance water/wastewater infrastructure and operations. The position is 40% project management, 30% analysis, 15% research and remaining 15% typically spent going out in the field/troubleshooting issues.
Key Responsibilities- Manage all phases of engineering projects, including investigations, design, permitting, financial project management, and construction management for surface and ground water supply, water treatment, pumping and distribution facilities; as well as wastewater collection, pumping, transmission, wastewater treatment and disposal facilities.
- Develop designs for water and wastewater infrastructure including water supply, water treatment, water distribution, wastewater collection, wastewater treatment, and spray irrigation systems.
- Conduct feasibility studies, evaluate alternatives, and provide recommendations with detailed engineering estimates for capital improvements.
- Monitor and review financial performance of assigned capital projects weekly.
- Provide technical guidance across departments and serve as a resource for engineering best practices.
- Collecting data, reducing data, analyzing alternative solutions and then preparing and writing reports and design documents to support conclusions.
- Coordinate and manage aspects of construction projects submittals, deliverables, reviews and approvals against contract requirements.
- Coordinate with the GIS and Survey departments to attain data (including but not limited to existing topographic and location information, boundary and record plans, etc.) for planning, design and permitting of projects.
- Request and evaluate proposals from various consultants and contractors.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers, providing guidance, support, and technical expertise to facilitate their professional growth and development.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- 5+ years of applicable engineering or project management experience
- Proven track record of successful project leadership and execution in a technical engineering environment.
- Direct experience in the water/wastewater industry
- PE (Professional Engineer) license
- Salary: $110,000 – $165,000 (based on experience and educational background)
