The Radiologic Technologist (RT) works with Medical Providers and/or Medical Assistants in the examination and treatment of GoHealth Urgent Care patients. This role is responsible for providing a variety of technical procedures and applying prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis for our GoHealth Urgent Care patients. The RT performs and analyses patient x‑rays and reports results to Medical Providers. Additional responsibilities include providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of GoHealth Urgent Care Centers.
In a collaborative manner, the RT will provide support to Medical Providers, Medical Assistants, and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication.
- Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technology program required
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Experience in a clinical setting preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required at the time of hire (obtained through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association)
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration required
- Applicable state licensure as a Radiologic Technologist required
- Responsible for x‑ray services as needed
- Under the direction of the clinical provider, perform x‑ray services for patients by applying x‑ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment of patients in all age groups from newborn to elderly
- Ensure patients are positioned correctly on or in front of equipment and protected during use
- Will need to push patient in a wheelchair
- Inform technical staff of patient flow
- Prepare patients for examination, which includes conducting interviews to verify patient information, record medical history; confirm purpose of visit
- Perform preliminary physical tests (blood pressure, weight, temperature, etc.) for vital signs and elevate critical cases to the provider as needed
- Conduct point‑of‑care testing as needed (i.e., flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG) and provide patient information to providers
- Responsible for maintenance of medical records and scanning charts to patient files
- Conduct courtesy call‑backs for patient follow‑up on care
- Follow operating instructions to perform and document daily controls and calibration of equipment; maintain Quality Assurance/Quality Control logs for equipment, troubleshoot breakdowns, perform preventive maintenance, and submit repair tickets as needed
- Medical Team Support:
