Medical Laboratory Scientist​/Technician- Evening Shift

The Christiana Care Microbiology Laboratory located on the Newark campus, is currently recruiting for a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Technician
.

This position is full time, evening shift, in the Newark Microbiology Lab with the hours of 3:00pm
-11:30pm. The position requires work every third weekend and 2-3 holidays per year. The position also requires a periodic rotation to the Microbiology Lab at Wilmington.

• Accurately performs all test procedures as listed in the procedure manual.
• Performs and records all scheduled instrument preventative maintenance procedures.
• Follows established quality control procedures, documenting corrective action if necessary.
• Adheres to all turnaround times, documents calls as necessary, verifies critical values and specimen identification.
• Verifies completion of all stat results and all routine results in a timely manner.
• Records workload and other statistics into computer system as necessary.
• Performs assigned work safely adhering to established department safety rules and practices.
• Performs other related duties as instructed.

• BS in Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Science
  BS in a chemical, physical, biological science
• AAS in Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Science
• ASCP eligible or equivalent
• Knowledge of clinical laboratory techniques and procedures
• Knowledge of infection control techniques and procedures
• Ability to coordinate simultaneous tests and procedures with accuracy
• Skill in the use of automated laboratory equipment

Hourly Pay Range: $29.22 - $43.83. This pay rate/range represents Christiana Care's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including, without limitation, skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
