The PRN Direct Care Worker provides non-medical support services to clients in their homes on an as-needed basis. This position ensures the safety, comfort, and well-being of clients while promoting independence and quality of life. PRN staff are expected to be flexible, dependable, and able to work varying shifts based on client and agency needs.

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility.
• Provide light housekeeping such as laundry, meal preparation, and maintaining a safe environment.
• Offer companionship and emotional support to clients.
• Assist with shopping, errands, and transportation as assigned.
• Observe and report any changes in client condition or environment to the supervisor promptly.
• Accurately document care provided in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
• Follow the client’s individualized care plan.
• Maintain professional boundaries and adhere to all agency standards and state regulations.

Be available for last-minute shift coverage when possible.

• Minimum of 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Successful completion of a formal caregiver training program and/or skills competency evaluation (as required by state).
• Previous caregiving experience in a home care, facility, or related setting preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and follow a written care plan.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings.

• PRN/As Needed Basis – hours and shifts will vary depending on client and agency needs.
• Must be flexible and willing to accept assignments with little notice.
• This is an hourly position; one mandatory quarterly Saturday meeting per quarter for 2 hours remote or in-person (4 per year)**

• Ability to lift, transfer, and assist clients (up to 50 lbs. or more with assistance).
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
• Ability to perform job duties safely in clients’ homes.
