Salary: $62,000-$72,000. Final compensation is based on factors such as skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities
  • Manages facility/grounds issues reported in an attentive, responsive, and respectful manner.
  • Manage expenditures for facility maintenance within established budget allocations.
  • Assist the Group VP, Buildings and Properties with personnel management including performance reviews and salaries of the maintenance/custodial staff.
  • Maintains organized files to include personnel matters, contractual arrangements, equipment warranties, staffing schedules, and inventories.
  • Maintains written custodial schedules with job specific duties clearly outlined.
  • Provides a safe and hazard free environment. Assists the Group VP, Buildings and Properties in completion of OSHA and/or risk management checklist and addresses areas out of compliance immediately.
  • Inspects all areas regularly and advises the Group VP, Buildings and Properties and Executive Director of any impending issues.
  • Maintains MSDS, OSHA, and safety information on location in a readily accessible area.
  • Completes maintenance repairs and submits work orders to the Facility Manager for work outside of the in-house staff’s capabilities.
  • Ensures work completed by YMCA staff and/or assigned contractors is completed appropriately and professionally. Communicates issues regarding work quality to the Group VP, Buildings and Properties.
  • Provides emergency response to all building emergencies. Schedules other emergency coverage when necessary.
  • Cooperates in the efforts of the branch in capital and annual fund-raising efforts.
  • Originates and submits maintenance work orders and ensures their completion through YMCA staff or contractors as assigned by the Group VP, Buildings and Properties.
  • Make sure supplies or tools that are needed to perform the cleaning or maintenance of the facility are available and organized.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to serve a diverse community.
  • A High School diploma or equivalent with a minimum of three years of supervisory experience is required.
  • Must have a minimum of three years’ experience managing budgets and/or supplies where direct fiscal accountability is assumed.
  • Must possess a valid Class D vehicle operator’s license.
  • Basic understanding of building systems including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing must be proven either through certification or testing.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of custodial cleaning procedures and custodial products and equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Multilingual.
  • Three to five years’ experience in building maintenance with certification.
  • A general understanding of computers, email, and internet matriculation with the expectation that use will be daily.
