It is the responsibility of the mechanic to eliminate minor stops and breakdown related losses, maintain and repair specialized process and packaging equipment, perform preventative maintenance, and suggest line improvements. Will work in the Packing Department of Phillips Mushroom Farms working on high speed packaging lines.

• Install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems in the facility.
• Set up and use machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill press, ban saw, hand tools and milling machine to repair or fabricate parts.
• Troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facility equipment to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
• Complete assigned work orders.
• Maintain maintenance area in a clean and orderly fashion.
• Utilize maintenance systems as necessary to complete daily, weekly, and monthly duties.
• Enter information into electronic systems to document work order completion.
• Produce support to team in the predictive and preventative maintenance program.
• Participate and actively support all plant initiatives.
• Follow established programs, policies, and practices to produce safe, quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements.
• Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the SQF 2000 systems.
• Must assist with equipment change overs and line start-ups, troubleshooting issues as needed.
• Identify required parts and maintain current inventories and re-orders lists.
• Must be able to work unsupervised at all times. Co-workers or supervisors may not be present
• Working near fully automated machinery.
• Operate material handling equipment safely.

8:00am-6:30pm Tuesday-Saturday (OFF Sunday, Monday)
