Christiana Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) at Christiana Hospital is a 24‑bed, high‑acuity critical care unit staffed by approximately 95 nurses and a dedicated multidisciplinary team. The Assistant Nurse Manager will assist the Nurse Manager with the administrative direction for clinical practice and efficient care delivery, sharing 24‑hour responsibility.

Assist the Nurse Manager in overall administrative direction for nursing clinical practice and delivery of high‑quality, efficient care to all patients. Share 24‑hour responsibility and accountability for daily operational activity. Directly supervise nursing and technical personnel, assessing staff proficiency, overseeing daily staffing and scheduling, evaluating performance, and counseling staff. Participate in hiring, promotion, salary adjustment, and termination decisions. Act as a role model demonstrating quality expertise and professional behaviors to support staff development and strategic goals.

Identify and develop strategies to improve staff knowledge and professionalism. Mentor and support all levels of staff on the floor. Identify potential future leaders and engage in succession planning. Analyze administrative and operational functions; implement appropriate changes and system‑wide improvements.

• RN licensure in the State of Delaware or compact state.
• BSN from an accredited nursing school; if no BSN, a Master’s degree in nursing is required.
• Master’s Degree in nursing, healthcare, or business management required or currently enrolled with a plan to obtain within 5 years.
• Professional certification in a related nursing specialty required (CCRN preferred).
• BLS Certification required.
• 3‑5 years appropriate clinical and leadership experience in the area or specialty.

This is a full‑time position with a choice of (5) 8‑hour shifts or (4) 10‑hour shifts. ANMs are primarily scheduled for off‑shift hours, meaning evening or overnight hours.

Annual Compensation Range: $ – $. This range represents Christiana Care’s good faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting; the actual salary offered will depend on individual factors such as skills, experience, and qualifications.
