Position Overview

As a Diesel Mechanic II, you will play an integral role in ensuring the safety of the children who rely on our yellow school buses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance on brakes, suspensions, drive trains, and transmissions.
  • Complete work orders.
  • Assist with mobile emergency services.
  • Use diagnostic skills to troubleshoot and repair vehicle issues.
Eligibility & Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with automotive, diesel, electric, or CNG vehicles.
  • Valid driver's license; willingness to obtain a CDL (training provided).
  • Mechanic's tool set.
  • Interest in growth, learning, and ASE testing.
  • Ability to work full-time, Monday‑Friday 9:00 am‑5:00 pm shift.
Benefits & Compensation
  • $30.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
  • ASE incentive of $0.40 /hour for each relevant ASE obtained (training materials and exams paid).

Safety & Drug Testing

Mechanics and technicians are subject to DOT drug testing as a safety‑sensitive employee. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.
