Accounts Payable Specialist

Our client in Newark, NJ is looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist on a contract basis. This person will handle the full AP cycle in Net Suite or a similar ERP. They'll keep payments accurate and on time, keep vendor relationships in good shape, and support month-end close. It's a good fit for a detail-oriented AP professional who can start quickly and work with little supervision.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Process a high volume of vendor invoices end to end in Net Suite (or a similar ERP), including coding, entry, and approval routing
• Do 2-way and 3-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documents
• Prepare and process weekly check, ACH, and wire payment runs
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies, duplicate payments, and past-due balances
• Answer vendor and internal questions professionally and on time
• Set up and maintain vendor master files, including W-9 collection and compliance checks
• Process and audit employee expense reports against company policy
• Support month-end close: accruals, AP aging review, and reconciling AP subledger to GL
• Help with 1099 preparation and year-end reporting as needed
• Support internal and external audit requests with documentation
• Find ways to improve AP processes and controls
