Data Entry Clerk

Description We are looking for a Data Entry Clerk to support an education-focused organization in Newark, New Jersey. This Contract position is ideal for someone who works carefully with large volumes of information and can maintain a high level of accuracy in a structured environment. The person in this role will help organize and update student and parent records, using Excel and internal student information systems to ensure data is complete, consistent, and ready by the end of October.

Responsibilities:

- Enter student and parent details into designated spreadsheets and internal record systems with a strong focus on precision.

- Examine source information before submission to confirm records are complete, accurate, and properly formatted.

- Maintain organized data files within prebuilt Excel templates and follow established data entry standards.

- Process a high volume of entries, supporting the completion of approximately 1,000 records within project timelines.

- Compare entered information against available documentation to identify and correct discrepancies.

- Support updates to student information system records as needed for the data entry project.

- Work efficiently within a 35-hour workweek while meeting quality and deadline expectations. Requirements - Prior experience in data entry, including work with numeric and text-based information.

- Strong typing skills with the ability to enter data quickly and accurately.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, especially when working with structured templates.

- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing error-free work.

- Comfort handling repetitive tasks while maintaining consistency across a large record set.

- Ability to manage deadlines and complete assigned work by the end of October.

- Experience using computer-based data entry systems in a structured work environment.
