The Maintenance Technician position performs car and bus service, repair, preventive maintenance, in‑fleet service, and buy‑back/turn‑back service according to company policy and procedures.

This role emphasizes customer focus and adherence to Quality Standards.

Starting rate of pay: $22.75 per hour. Employees can earn merit increases based on the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Each ASE certification earned will add $1.25 per hour, up to a maximum of four ASE certifications. The position is located in Elizabeth, NJ 07201.

• Ensure all repairs and preventative maintenance are completed according to the manufacturer's specifications and guidelines.
• Provide safe and reliable vehicles upon completion of repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Perform in‑fleet servicing on new cars according to company procedures as required.
• Perform buy back/turn back servicing according to company procedures as required.
• Perform vehicle servicing/repair to maintain company standards; maintain Out‑Of‑Service at or below 2%.
• Maintain a safe and clean work area.
• Perform other related duties as required.
• Perform 109 inspection.

• Minimum of 1 year experience handling mechanical service procedures.
• Ownership of standard hand tools to perform basic maintenance and repair responsibilities.
• Authorized to work in the United States; no work‑authorization sponsorship required.
• Flexible to work any shift, any day, including nights and weekends.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Completion of a pre‑employment drug test.

Operate a motor vehicle is an essential function of this position. Applicants must have a valid, unrestricted U.S. driver's license.

First‑time drivers and individuals under 21 years old must complete the mandatory Graduated Driver License (GDL) program requirements.

• ASE certification desired: A1 (Engine Repair), A4 (Suspension and Steering), A5 (Brakes), A6 (Electrical Systems), A7 (Heating & Air Conditioning), A8 (Engine Performance); G1 Auto Maintenance and Light Repair Certification Test, and X1 (Exhaust Systems) – each will earn an additional $1.25 per hour per certification.
